Co-Creator: The Rat Queens Story
The feature documentary I scored this year had its first screening at the Documentary Film Festival (DOXA). The film was directed and produced by Lonnie Nadler.
"Vancouver director Lonnie Nadler follows Kurtis Wiebe, writer of the New York Times bestselling comic book series Rat Queens, as he builds a successful feminist comic book while dealing with publishing deadlines, a somewhat rabid fandom, and the pressures of starting a family. At the height of the book’s popularity, artist and co-creator Roc Upchurch is arrested for domestic abuse. Herein things get increasingly complex."
You can watch the trailer here.
"Nestor has scored 4 films for me with precision and care, every time he has always delivered more than I could have imagined. The scores he delivers are beautiful and always come in before the deadlines set, which as an indie filmmaker, is almost never seen."
